Privacy Policy
yeast.wiki · last updated 22 June 2026
yeast.wiki is a private, invite-only personal knowledge base operated by the yeast.wiki operator ("we", "us"). One person owns each wiki — it is not a community or public platform. This policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and who else it touches. Questions or requests: hello@yeast.wiki.
What we collect
- Your Google identity — your email address and name, received when you sign in with Google. We use it to identify your account and authorize access.
- Your content — the wiki pages you and the AI assistant create, and any documents you import. This is the core of the service.
- Usage metering — counts of AI/model tokens and web searches your activity uses, to track cost.
- Optional Telegram link — if you connect Telegram, the chat identifier that binds it to your account.
- A hashed sync password — if you set up Obsidian/WebDAV sync (we store only a one-way hash, never the password).
Who else processes your data
To run the service we rely on these third-party providers ("sub-processors"). Each receives only what it needs:
- Google — sign-in (OAuth/OIDC).
- DeepSeek — the AI model. The prompts you send and the wiki/source text the assistant reads are sent to the model to generate edits and translations.
- Tavily — web-search queries the assistant issues when researching.
- Cloudflare R2 — encrypted off-site backups of your content.
- GitHub — a versioned backup of vault content.
- DigitalOcean — the server that hosts the service; Cloudflare — DNS and TLS.
Cross-border processing. The service is hosted on servers outside Hong Kong (currently the United States), and several providers above are located outside Hong Kong. By using yeast.wiki you understand and consent that your data is processed and stored overseas. We do not sell your data, and we do not use it to train AI models beyond what is needed to serve you.
Your data is yours
Your wiki is plain Markdown. You can sync it to your own devices via Obsidian/WebDAV and export the full history via git — so you can take your content and leave at any time.
Retention & deletion
Backups rotate on a schedule (recent daily, weekly, and monthly copies). You can ask us to delete your account and content at any time by emailing hello@yeast.wiki; deleted data is removed from active storage and ages out of backups on the rotation above.
Changes
We may update this policy as the service evolves; the "last updated" date above reflects the current version. Material changes will be reflected here.
